Paula Robison at Flutistry Boston

2013-2014 Season

Paula Robison took a sabbatical from public flute performance during the 2013-2014 season to practice, teach, and regroup. She made two recordings for Pergola: “Playing New York” with pianist Steven Beck, which includes the first recording of Michael Tilson Thomas’ “Notturno”, and a disc including the Pierre Boulez “Sonatine” and the first recording of Thierry Lancino’s “Cinq Caprices” with pianist Paavali Jumppanen, for release in 2015. She worked closely with G.Schirmer’s David Flachs and conductor Hugh Wolff on the restoration of Leon Kirchner’s 1978 “Music for Flute and Orchestra”, written for her, for its Boston premiere in October of 2014 and performances with MTT and The New World Symphony in 2015. Paula had a large flute studio at New England Conservatory for the 2013-2014 season, and her regular Monday evening studio classes were open to selected visitors during the year. She had a glorious three days at the NORTHERN CALIFORNIA FLUTE CAMP in July 2014.
